Literature

A virtually identical Anglo/Norman Caen stone head of a Green Man grotesque was found in 2015 at St Margarets Church, Hopton, Great Yarmouth, during renovation of the medieval tower.

There was an original Norman church on this site, the medieval tower was built utilising stone from the earlier church. There is no stone locally in that part of Norfolk, the Romanesque Norman churches were built from imported limestone from Caen.
